C. ADÁN CABRERA is a Salvadoran-American writer, translator and editor based in Barcelona, Spain. Among other publication credits, Carlos’s writing has appeared in Switchback, The Acentos ReviewFrom Macho to Mariposa: New Gay Latino FictionBorderSenses, parentheses, and Kweli. His debut book of short stories Books Can Only Take You So Far explores the complex intersections of race, class and sexuality and the way these shaped his writing and worldview.

A 2011 Lambda Literary Fellow and 2nd place winner of the 2020 Raymond Carver Short Story Contest, Carlos holds an MFA from the University of San Francisco and a bachelor’s degree in English from UCLA. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Carlos is hard at work on his second collection of short stories called The Last Day of Summer.
